I recently got bitten by one of these snakes. It's not venomous or anything, and really, the bite didn't hurt at all. I was holding it at a pet store, because I want to buy one as a pet. It was pretty beautiful and I am even more interested in getting one now.
This picture was not taken at a pet store, but instead at the Oklahoma City Zoo's herpetarium. This snake was quite a big larger and older than the one I got bitten by, and much more active. They're escape artists and I'm sure that's what this one was trying to do.

When I was at a local pet store, one of their king snakes took a snap at my fingers from a small opening in its enclosure. I guess she wasn't amused by some twat sticking her hands in her face.
